Tin Surprize

I was asked to make something to donate for another silent action fundraiser. And I honestly didn't know what I could redo or make. The rest of the auction items were all sports related to the Creighton Blue Jays and Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Soo..... DING IDEA!

I had some galvanized tin from this old chicken coop..

and thought that would make a cool sign to hang in a garage, bedroom, or game room. I mean, I would totally buy one! Something different that you can't buy at a sports store, ya know.

Easy Fabric Wall Flowers

Easy Fabric Flowers

These are the fabric flowers I made for my new nieces nursery. I think it gave the wall a little texture and depth.

This is a real cheap and easy wall decoration made from floral Styrofoam, fabric, and some beads from an old broken necklace.

First I cut the fabric into 2 inch strips and then into squares.

Grandmas Curio

My husbands Grandma Loraine has been sending me family heirlooms/dishes and I needed to have a "safe" place to display them. And I say safe because living with boys....yeah they are a little rough sometimes. So I have been looking for an older/antique Curio Cabinet for quite sometime. And I didn't want to spend a fortune on one either.

Look at this beauty, Knights of Columbus Garage Sale find for only $15!!!!!! I know, I know why paint it because it is pretty flawless. But I can't just leave things alone. LOL

I removed the door and took out the secretary slots so it was an open shelf.

DIY Brooch Mirror

I have been slowly collecting vintage and new jewelry for awhile now. Some from thrift stores, clearance racks, and others from garage sales. I have gotten a lot of great ideas as to what to do with them. From drawer pulls to a decorative box or wreath. Which are all GREAT ideas!
Once I found this mirror I knew at least some of them were going on it!
I found this old mirror at a garage sale for a whole whoppin $1!
(see my Harley sleeping in front of the door? LOL)

This is just some of the gems I have collected.

I used some wire cutters to cut the backs off. So they will lay flat on the mirror.

I then hot glued them to the frame.

My New Niece's Room Reveal

My new niece is due to arrive next month. And being an aunt truly completes my heart. You have that special place for your own children and then there is that place in your heart that ya didn't even know you had....and that's where being an aunt fits!

So project baby girl just got underway. My sister was pretty indecisive on what decor she wanted. She liked some modern and some vintage looks. And that's where I came in! I knew I could make it happen. So I told her to start diggin out all her old house decor that she wasn't using anymore. A little spray paint and creativity and now her room is ready!
